Tennis at Withdean

Emma Raducanu has captured the countries hearts and inspired thousands of children and adults alike to pick up a tennis racquet and head to the courts. The problem with Emma winning the US Open rather than Wimbledon (which we are sure she will sort out next year) is that the timing isn’t great for pleasant tennis weather.

Fortunately at Withdean we boast several indoor tennis courts so regardless of the weather outside we can offer a dry place to practise your back hand, and maintain your game over the coming winter months.

As a celebration of Emma’s victory, and to make that picking up of the racquet even easier the team at Withdean are offering free trial lessons, so you can explore whether it’s the sport for you.

Les Mills Classes in Brighton – Combat the first timers fear           

Starting a new class can be scary, you picture a room full of bronzed and tone beauties who know the routine off by heart and with workouts like ‘body pump’ and ‘body combat’ it can all sound a bit intense! At Freedom Leisure in Brighton and Hove we appreciate this and we are here to help.

For national fitness day on the 22nd of September we want to help you take that first step, and take it without any sort of long term commitment so we are offering completely free classes to non-members with our trained instructors. We are all diverse ourselves, different body shapes, different fitness levels and different goals but we are joined by our enthusiasm about health and wellbeing. We will be on hand to guide you through what the les mills programmes entail and can give you feedback and advice to help you find the perfect route to achieving your goals.

To participate simply turn up to any of the following sessions:

Synergy Dance Cheerleading at Portslade

We are so excited to be partnering with Synergy Dance for new children activities and parties at Portslade Sport Centre

 

Dance & Movement, Monday 10.45 to 11:45 am, 2 to 4 years

** Starting Monday 6th September **

A pre-school movement class that focuses on body awareness and the development of gross motor skills working on coordination, balance and strength as well as improving concentration and confidence.

No session on Monday 25th October 

Cheerleading, Wednesday 16:00 to 17:00 , 7 to 12 years 

** Starting Wednesday 8th September**

Experience our action-packed cheerleading classes! Learn cheer moves, formations, cheer dance routines, games and combos with optional stunts and lifts, depending on ability. No experience necessary, all poms poms provided. Wear comfortable trainers to support. 

No session on 27th October

 

Teen Yoga, Tuesday 16:00 to 17:00, 12- 16 years 

** Starting Tuesday 7th September **

Our teen yoga is the perfect pause in between the hectic worlds of school, friends and socialising. Relax and unwind in our fun introuduction to yoga and mindfulness. An excellent way to relieve stress, recharge and learn new skills. 

No session Tuesday 26th October 

Teen Dance, Thursday 16:00 to 17:00, 12 - 16 years

**Starting Thursday 9th September**

Keep fit and share your moves in a fun, dance and fitness class. Include resistance, stretching, toning, strength and cardio work, increasing energy levels, muscle tone and strength, endurance, flexibility and motor skills.
